Many Kuranda packages offer return hotel transfers from Cairns City Hotels.
There are no public transport options to reach the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway or Freshwater Train Station.

The Kuranda Scenic Railway departs from two train stations:
From Cairns Central Station: 8:30am, 9:30am
Cairns Railway station is situated in the heart of Cairns a short walk from most CBD hotels.
If you are staying in a hotel that is close to Cairns Central Station, a tour with a one way pick up might be a suitable option for you. These tours pick you up from your hotel and take you to Skyrail at Smithfield. You can then take the Scenic Rail from Kuranda all the way back to Cairns Central Station in the city and walk back to your hotel.
From Freshwater Station: 8:50am, 9:50am
Freshwater Station is the preferred departure point as it has character.
The Kuranda Scenic Rail takes 90 minutes to reach Kuranda, Including a stop to view the Barron Falls.
Hotel pick-up will generally be around an hour before the Train or Skyrail departs.
Departs Kuranda Station: 2pm, 3:30pm.
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is 7.5kms long. Skyrail Gondola’s seat 6 people and run in a continuous loop between the Skyrail Station located at Smithfield, to Kuranda Village.
The Gondola’s leave approximately every 45 seconds.
Skyrail is very popular, so you need to meet the designated Skyrail booking time in your selected itinerary.
The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway journey is a minimum of 45 minutes. Allow for 90 minutes to complete your Skyrail journey including the 2 stops.
When considering a Kuranda tour, if you factor in 90 minutes each way for your Journey to and from Kuranda, the remaining time in between is your own free time in the Kuranda Village.
